DMCA Copyright Notice Procedure
This is an operational draft of the notice process under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The operator must complete legal review and designated-agent registration before publishing final contact details.
1. Who May Submit a Notice
You may submit a notice if you own the copyright or are authorized to act for the owner and have a good-faith belief that specific content on ScriptLAB infringes that copyright.
2. Required Information
Include a physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification and exact URL of the material to remove or disable; your name, address, phone number, and email; a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorized agent.
3. How to Submit
Use the dedicated copyright-notice form and provide every required element in its separate field. For multiple items, add each work description and exact ScriptLAB URL separately. Submission does not automatically remove content; an administrator reviews the notice first.
4. Review and Counter Notices
After receiving a valid notice, we may restrict access to the material and notify the uploader. The uploader may sign in and use the dedicated counter-notice form. Restoration is considered only after the required forwarding process and waiting period.
5. Repeat Infringement and Misrepresentation
A copyright strike remains active for 12 months after it is recorded. New video uploads are blocked at 3 active strikes; voided and expired strikes do not count. Willful or large-scale infringement may result in immediate account suspension regardless of the strike count. Material misrepresentations can create liability, so submit only complete and accurate information.
